Thanks, guys, for kind words...and especially Simon for inputting eBay info in order to view pictures; to say I'm "computer challenged" is one huge understatement. In fact, that's one of the reasons I like the Speedster so much...no computers on it!! Bob, you've actually seen the car at the Bug A Rama two summers ago and I would be more than happy to let you drive/inspect it for any interested buyer. Regards, Bob W.
I dunno... Good luck & all but...

This here looks like you took a little editorial license:

"...If you are looking for a Speedster replica beware of ones with the 1915 engine (thin cylinder walls)...""

The 1915 is one of the most popular engines on this site with many proponents. To date I have yet to hear that a 1915 is problematic in any way.

Thanks, Mike...I agree the 1915 engine is VERY popular but the size can be reached in different ways, e.g., boring and/or stroking. My information is that if you use standard crank and decide to bore you are at the minimum recommended thickness. Don't forget it gets HOT here in the summer and fall in the foothills...hence the larger sump on my car...better safe than sorry?! Regards. Bob
Hi, Alan...Thanks for heads up!! I couldn't agree more and have already made that clear to a fellow from Germany and another from Italy. Although both had 100% eBay ratings neither has yet bid on the car and they may be waiting...as often seems to be the case...until the last minute. Which makes sense; why bid until the last possible second just to drive up the price for someone else? It's kind of like racing...it doesn't make any difference where you were with 10 feet to the flag if you don't cross the finish line first. Best regards, Bob
Hi, all...Well, a really fun chapter in my life closed tonight when I loaded the Speedster on to a really nice covered transporter bound for Tennessee. The eBay sale got real spirited in the last several minutes and the car sold for several hundred dollars over my Buy It Now price. Best wishes to all of you who corresponded with me the past couple of weeks. Bob Wheatley
