Here's a P356 tool roll, currently at $8,000 with an hour to go. Doesn't even have the 10mm in triplicate! Which would absolutely be five figures-plus.

I thought of buying a repro spare tire tin, but I missed my opportunity. AFAIK, the only ones available now are the EMPI-branded ones.
I settled for an OEM 21/36.$78 on eBay. I also have the original pliers from our ‘60 Kombi tool kit.
Dave at Vintage German (local AC shop) has an original VW tin from BITD. He doesn’t want to sell it, but he’d take $750 for it.

Originally there were Hazel stamped ones and VW stamped ones from Germany ,
Empi just sent on of those to China to copy ,
There was also a company making replica VW ones with VWs blessing , but that was probably 20 plus years ago

I think I first started getting interested in them as the pre-EMPI reproductions were becoming scarce. You could still find them on The Samba and eBay for ~$200. But I was still hoping one of my brothers would confess to having ours rat-holed somewhere. By the time I gave up, the EMPI ones were all that was available, other than the odd OEM one for $750-$1,000.
ps: it’s Hazet, not Hazel.
In other tool news, Harbor Freight is now selling gold-plated ratchets.

Auto-correct doesn't like the word Hazet.
ps: it’s Auto-corrupt, not Auto-correct

So their you have it.
Is that technically auto-correct or Word's inability to actually detect correct word usage?
In more weighs than won.
I hate when autocorrect messes with the shirt I write! :-)
One of my favorite autocorrect slams was conservative Nicolle Wallace, GWB’s assistant press secretary and host of Deadline White House tweeted “Dear Apple, never in my life having I wanted to tell anyone to “Duck Off.”

For me, it works exactly the opposite of this.
I'll have some benign sentence about a machine and a solution, and Siri will think I'm describing a desire for something kinky in some pretty graphic terms. She also supposes I have a potty-mouth like a sailor.
Siri needs to clean it up.
You guys think Hazet is expensive? Look through a couple of these:
https://www.pegasusautoracing.....asp?CategoryID=BETA
Some of that stuff makes Snap-On look like old-school "Pittsburgh Forge" at Harbor Freight. You know, back before HF got all pricey.
IIRC, Griots used to sell either Beta or Facom when they first started out. I think they dropped them, probably because nobody saw the beauty of a $500 set of combination wrenches.
eta: It was Facom. I did buy a 5 tray tool box from them when they were selling them. It’s not too bad, $85. Mine is all red.
Their 150 piece automotive set is $2300.00.
