It's been curing for nearly a week and they started our laborious process of color sanding.  1000-1500-2000-3000-5000 and then buff with 2 different compounds, spot check and glaze (it gets one more final machine polish/wax at the end of assembly also).  From there it'll go back to paint to black out the wheel wells with our Kevlar coating and in this case a 2nd round of sanding and painting on the main chassis rails since Steve wants those to have a show car finish as well...  Should be in final assembly in 2-3 weeks, which is right about when Pat will be finishing the 2276 and Rancho the billet pro-street...

The current wait time is due to the backlog created during COVID.  Mine was because they had to figure out how to make what turned out to be a very complex car - during COVID - after Chuck had a heart attack - etc.

Back to @SJackson's car.  I really can't wait to see that car completed and sitting in the sun.  That's a bold color choice that I think will be eye-popping.

Yup @Lane Anderson I am aware of why delays are affecting  today's market. I also believe post Covid people realize you cannot take it without and decided to "pull the trigger" on their dream car. Just pointing out how times have change over the last 8 years.

@SJackson without a doubt that color is amazing and imagine in person in sunlight it is going to pop. Can't wait to see the completed car. What wheels are you going with... or is that one of the other surprises.

I'll be using 190 alloys in silver and Vredestein Sprint Classics. No really crazy surprises other than the Lempert steering wheel which looks badass by the way and the billet transaxle. Spent some sleepless nights figuring what color combos to use. It's the little details that make the difference. Was originally going to use Koni shocks, but Carey talked me out of it. But he told me he could paint the shocks and use the Koni decal if I wanted the look. Told him to do it. A lot of little details like this.
