Not a Beck, misrepresented on BAT?

Thank goodness Carey stepped forward and stated it was not a Beck SE!  Maybe the prior owner was named Beck or at least liked Beck beer!  YUP obviously a CMC Calif C with VW pan.

He calls it a “57 Becks” as seen in the weird story write up in the ad photo files. I do remember experiencing my own version of 57 Becks though, but that was back in college a long time ago…

I see the rare “no plastic fuel jug next to the battery” rule is being violated as well. Is it just me, or does this look like an improvised explosive device discovered at a checkpoint?

Fire Bomb for sure! The fuel level gauge sender obviously leaks.  It has fuses directly above that to provide a spark.  Then there is the metal tool box waiting to fly forward and short out the battery with big sparks.

That's one of the worst constructed/maintained CMC that I have seen in a long time.  I thought BAT was particular about the cars they listed.  Did that guy in TX build it?

Hey, at least this one RUNS and DRIVES, eh? I agree it leaves a lot to be desired. Give it to me for a week, I'll transform it mechanically and electrically and make it reliable and safe.

I used to keep an empty gas can in my Spyder just in case I ran out. Could be empty and NOT a hazard.

And who is to say the toolbox isn't bolted down?

Guy should have taken the money and run. DMR @ $21,750.  My buddy bought a nicer one than that for $15K last year.
