Where to mount fire extinguisher

Hey gang, any suggestons on where to mount a fire extinguisher in my 2002 Vintage Speedster. If mounted on the transaxle hump do you just screw into it? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I have a IM and it is in the engine compartment, it is set to go off with I believe an open flame. It looks like something you would see in a restaurant grill area, but this one is for car's.

Mine is mounted horizontally on the passenger side, on the panel just in front of the door. It's up very high and out of the way and can barely be seen, but is easily accessible.

Mine is mounted in front of the driver's door right beside my left knee. Easy to grab from inside or outside the car.

Before you drill any hole in a surface, metal or glass, you may want to make sure there are no electric wires or hydraulic lines behind that area. Placement of the extinguisher is a tradeoff between accessibility of use and temptation for a passing thief. That's why you see some folks mounting them slightly out of the line of sight of a casual passerby. Wherever you mount it, practice a few times removing it, so that your first removal won't be under emergency conditions.

Stuffed mine behind the pass'r seat. Is right at hand if needed, and nothing more to it. very low tech . . .

Mine is mounted to left of drivers seat, easy to get to and out of sight. I made a shallow aluminum cradle for it so removal is quick and the gauge is easily readable.
