Good morning Gents!
I was speaking with another SOC member the other day and realized I should probably scout a trusted air-cooled mechanic somewhere near me. I've done 100% of the work on my car thus far, but I know my limitations. I've read a few threads about shops in PA and VA, but shops close, get passed on to inept children, etc.
Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Get ahold of Dale Schumacher when he returns from Carlisle. He has a VW powered MG-TD and a CMC C Speedster. He's in Garrisonville, VA. My info is 12 years old - Bugman in Lorton, VA, Wayne Ditman (engines( in Stafford, VA and Monk in Lorton/Springfield, VA. Dale does all his own work and is very knowledgeable too.
Others may know of places in MD.

Ugh. I tried calling Wayne and Monk’s, both numbers are no longer working. Crossing my fingers the BuggyMan is still in business.

I checked SAMBA for VA - ha, it still has Monks VI as Northern VA club lead. There is a Central and Northern club listed though - VW Cruisers (vwcruisers-virginia.com)
