I always raid the spares bin and if that cupboard's dry, go with wax, wash stuff. One year I gave away a Megajolt crankfire ignition setup complete with EDIS pickup, coil kit and trigger wheel. One year it was a bottle of white wine. Basically anything goes, because you never know what someone in the group is going to love and/or need.

I always walk out with something cool.

That's very generous, Bruce!  I'm looking forward to seeing your work!

"I'll bring some real beer for you guys down there."

What's that....Molson?  Now owned by Coors out of Colorado?

Can you get some Gahan's?  We can't get that at all down here...

My stash of car stuff is getting pretty low so I may have to resort to Liquid items - I'll have to rummage through the shop attic and see what I've got.  A case of Cold Harbor Brewery growlers might be cool, though.

At past raffles, I've gotten a pair of Marchall lights, a detailing kit by Griot's (which actually started me taking detailing semi-seriously) , a pair of period door pulls and the odd bottle of wine - all good stuff!

I love beer. All beer. I don't discriminate. If it comes in a green bottle it's usually the last thing I'd reach for.  I'd drink a coors light / bud / budlight before I'd reach for a Molsen, Rolling rock or anything else in a green bottle.  Beers from Japan are exempt from my green bottle bias.

Friends don't let friends drink skunky beer.

And what in God's green earth could Coors Lite actually be?? Regular Coors is pretty mild, as mentioned above -- nad then they make it Lite??? .  And I have only met one beer I would not drink: Mich Ultra.  that shyt is an insult.  Otherwise, it's been many years now under the following philosophy: Life is too short to drink cheap beer.  So I'll bring some of my faves also.  Now there was a time, when funds were quite limited and thirst was still keen nevertheless.  Economics ruled, and so there was Natty Boh, and Old German, Schmidts (?) among others.  Can't recall exactly, but maybe as low as a buck a six-pack??  Anybody remember??

"coors light / bud / budlight" are distant cousins of good beer and only good for the hottest of hot lawn mowing days. Even then I'd sooner have water than those near-waters. The US has some of the best micros in the world, drink local!

Google Great American Beer Festival in Boulder CO.

A West Coast style IPA is where it's at for me, whether Canadian or American brewed

I'm with you guys; if it's beer, I'll drink it (especially if it's the only choice at the moment!), but there are certain beers that tickle the taste buds more than others. A good IPA, or something a little darker and/or hoppier is always worth a try. And I also agree with Ted's comment about beer that comes in green bottles; they're obviously trying to hide something.

No, the green, or brown, is all about the light, I think.  Keeping the light out.  Or maybe its just cheaper??  Anyway, I think we are in the first stages of a revolution, where bottles are on the way out, and cans are going to be it. More and more local micro brewers are offering cans these days.  Supposed to be cheaper to ship (they are lighter) and easier to handle (don't break).  I'm not a fan of this trend, but will admit that I have had some nice micro from cans recently, and I did not die as a consequence.  ;-)

Couple years ago I happened on some Anderson Valley Boont Ale and wish the heck I could get it somewhere.

In Baltimore, so still drink Boh in the summer sometimes. Cold and refreshing. I lean toward the Belgian styles when out and about. The stuff at Brewer's Art (used to live a block from there) is worth a trip. Beazly is my fave there, but it's all good, and the sit-down food is also worth the price.

I have only met one beer I couldn't drink.   I don't remember the name, but it was brewed in Wisconsin.   It was a very dark stout that tasted like an ash tray.

On a hot summer day, I'll be happy with Bud Light Select 55.   Not much alcohol content, so you can pretty much drink them all day long.

I'll pass on your typical bud light / Coors light, etc...  Give me a good Ale or IPA, please.
